Who are the borderland Winds?

Juanita Burch-Clay - Clarinet

Juanita has been playing clarinet since elementary school, and bass clarinet since high school.  She majored in Music Theory and Composition at Princeton University, after which she started her teaching career in international schools as a music teacher and band director.  Although she went on to be a counselor and school administrator, she continued her musical involvement in school and community ensembles around the world, including the award-winning city band of Lugano, Switzerland.  Now retired, she enjoys playing with local groups of all types throughout the year.

Juanita and her husband, whom she met in the marching band at college, live in the solar post-and-beam home in Middletown Springs, Vermont that they designed and built many years ago.
